Tarwa N-Tiniri

Marokko

Tarwa N-Tiniri, meaning “sons of the desert,” represents the new generation of Saharan and Amazigh blues musicians from Ouarzazate – the well-known “Hollywood of Africa. The members of the 6-member band grew up in the same neighborhood and in 2012 began experimenting with music modeled after their great iconic example, the Malian-Berber band Tinariwen. In 2019, they debuted their first album, AZIZDEG, and have since built an impressive career.

Like fresh desert wind in warm desert blues, they blend intoxicating grooves and biting electric guitars with banjo and traditional instruments from Amazigh culture.

Their lyrics are often about the social conditions of the nomads, but also about love, friendship and peace. They fight for tolerance and equality of all ethnic groups and also perform works by ancient Amazigh poets.

Come enjoy the enchanting rhythms and melodies of the desert.
