Kristel, an intriguing Afro pop-rock trio, represents the new generation of the indie scene of Madagascar. Together with her husband Andry Sylvano and brother Ben Kheli, front woman and bass player Christelle Ratri (23) brings an extremely original mix of Malagasy music with funk, reggae and rock.

Their lyrics, only in Malagasy, tell the life of the residents of the large island off the South East coast of Africa. The band hits you with a hot iron to proudly brand their roots, which is somewhat ironic for an island with electricity of 23% range. From Gossip to Prince via Skunk Anansie with a hint of tropical island vibes.
